The Nishnawbe-Aski Legal Services Society (NALSC) provides and coordinates a range of legal services to members of the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation (NAN). NALSC is owned by the First Nations of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation. The Corporation`s mandate includes legal, paralegal, public legal education and legal reform services. Note: You must be a member of a First Nation in legal services to access their legal services. In the area of criminal law and courts, courts and the court system, the Nishnawbe-Aski Legal Services Corporation is primarily funded by Legal Aid Ontario (LAO). Legal aid certificates are issued under LAO to anyone throughout the NNA who is eligible and requires a lawyer.
