The center, named after the late judge and attorney J. Harper Meredith, has the staff and resources to meet the employment needs of WVU law students and alumni, as well as the legal employment needs of West Virginia and state employers. While we recommend that students attend all on-campus interviews in which they are eligible and interested, students should also develop a personal job search plan. National statistics show that most students find their jobs through a personal job search, NOT through an on-campus interview. WVU Law`s combination of classroom and client experiences ensures strong preparation for future careers. The centre`s staff offers career advice, CV preparation and cover letter writing workshops, as well as one-on-one practical interviews. The set of career guidance services includes: First-year students may conduct job interviews in the second semester. First-year students can begin their job search starting November 1 by creating or updating their resume and searching for companies 1L can start contacting employers after December 1. Starting in February, a limited number of large companies will return to campus to hire first-year clerks.
